Computing
At Pebsham Primary Academy our mission is to engage and enrich children’s curiosity and experience in school through digital literacy, ICT and computer science. We strive provide all children with the skills, knowledge, understanding and courage to become digitally literate, equipping them for life, within the 21st century classroom.
Every child will have the opportunity to explore, connect and embrace the technology available to them and equip them for the next stage in their education and into the workplace. Every child will understand the significance of computing in everyday life and reach their full potential in an ever changing digital world.
In addition through our E-safety curriculum, children will have the knowledge, skills and compassion to engage in the ever growing online community. Every child will be guided through an ambitious computing curriculum delivered through high quality teaching and a range of learning experiences.
How is this subject taught
We have adapted the Teach Computing curriculum to meet the needs of the school. It follows an enquiry based approach with practical tasks. Although computing skills are taught discreetly, digital literacy is also applied within other subject areas, such as maths, English, science, reading, geography, history and modern foreign languages.
