Science
Science teaching at Pebsham Primary Academy aims to give all children a strong understanding of the world around them whilst acquiring specific skills and knowledge to help them to think scientifically, to gain an understanding of scientific processes and an understanding of the uses and implications of Science, today and for the future. We are also keen for our children to learn about the diversity within science and they study various scientists from all different backgrounds throughout their time at Pebsham. It is hoped that we will inspire some future scientists who will help change our world.
We use the Primary Science Scheme, which follows the National Curriculum, to build children's substantive and disciplinary knowledge in a systematic, progressive, authentic and enjoyable way.
All children are encouraged to develop and use a range of skills including observing, planning and investigating, as well as being encouraged to question the world around them and become independent learners in exploring possible answers for their scientific based questions.
